Hydrolate or flower water, as some call it, is a plant extract that is obtained by the process of distilling flowers. It contains all the water-soluble aromatics of the plant, whereas those that are not water-soluble are secreted into the essential oil.

The amazing advantage of hydrolats is that they are extremely gentle on the skin and can be applied directly to the skin.

Virginia hamamelis (Hamamelis virginiana) is known for its bright yellow flowers, which are even more striking because they bloom in the fall when the leaves have fallen. Of all the hamamelis, the Virginia hamamelis has the most active substances. It is a shrub whose effects were already known to the American Indians, and today their knowledge of the plant is being used again in wellness centres.

Use

Use: It is suitable for all skin types. It is used for skin care and cleansing or as a toner. Apply the cooled hydrolat to the skin with cotton wool or spray. If desired, it can also be mixed into other cosmetic products or used in the bath.

Hydrolates are versatile:

• Direct application to the skin (the bottle has a handy spray bottle).

Apply to cleansed face - evening and morning before applying cream or oil. It will thus act as a skin toner. You can also apply it by spraying it on a cotton pad and rubbing it into the skin.

• Chamel Hydrolate is also suitable for aftershave skin care.
• As a bath additive- for a beneficial effect on the skin and well-being.
• As a mouthwash.
• Perfume: Can be sprayed on skin, clothes or hair.
• Hydrolate can also be used to scent bedding, rooms or laundered linen.
• Addition to natural cosmetics: as a base for making creams or to improve the quality of cosmetic products.
