Dragon's Blood(Sangre de drago or Croton lechleri) is a medium-sized tree that reaches 10 to 20 m in height and thrives in the tropical Amazonian regions of South America. Although the tree is tall, the trunk is usually no more than 30 cm in diameter and is covered with smooth, mottled bark. When the bark is cut, a dark red resin resembling blood slowly begins to ooze out - hence the name "dragon's blood".
