Ovulation is a process that occurs once in every menstrual cycle, in which an egg is released from the ovary. The egg then travels into the fallopian tube where it is ready for fertilization. Immediately before ovulation, the body produces large amounts of luteinizing hormone (LH), which triggers the release of a mature egg from the ovary. This "LH surge" usually occurs in the middle of the menstrual cycle.

White Lab's Rapid LH Ovulation Test (on a midstream urine sample) is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of luteinizing hormone (LH) in urine to aid in the detection of ovulation.

The test detects a sharp rise in the luteinizing hormone LH - an indicator of impending ovulation.

Conducting the test is extremely simple- hold the tip of the test stick, from which you first removed the cap, under a medium stream of urine or dip it into urine you have previously collected in a sterile container. In doing so, you must immerse the absorbent tip at least ⅔ for at least 15 seconds. Then close the tip of the test stick and place it on a flat surface, then wait 3 minutes before reading the result.

After this time, the results will appear on the test as colored lines with three possible outcomes: negative result (no increase in LH, repeat the test the next day), positive result (ovulation occurs within the next 24-36 hours) , invalid result (the test is probably not done correctly).

Use

Testing:

• First, use the chart in the instructions to determine the day to start the test.
• Then determine the optimal time to collect the urine sample. For best results, collect the urine sample at approximately the same time each day. Do not collect the first urine sample in the morning.
• Before performing the test, warm all parts of the test kit to room temperature (15-30°C).
• Remove the test stick from the foil and use it within an hour.
• Remove the cap and hold the test stick by the top with the absorbent tip pointing downwards. Direct it directly into the midstream of urine for at least 15 seconds until it is completely wet. If you prefer, you can collect the urine into a clean, dry container and then dip only the absorbent test tip into the urine for at least 15 seconds.
• After removing the test stick from the urine, immediately cover the absorbent tip, place the test stick on a flat surface with the result window facing up, and then begin measuring. When the test starts, you may notice a stream of light color moving across the result window.
• Read the result after 3 minutes. If the result does not appear, wait another minute. After 10 minutes, the result is no longer valid.
• It is recommended that you take each subsequent test at the same time.

Positive result:Two separate lines will appear: in the test field T and in the control field C. The test line (T) is the same or darker than the control line (C). This means that ovulation is likely to occur within 24-36 hours.

Negative result: 2 lines appear, but the test line (T) is brighter or fainter than the control line (C), or the test line does not appear (T). This means there was no increase in LH and you should do another test the next day.

Invalid Result:The result is invalid if no comma appears or only the test line (T) appears. In this case, repeat the procedure with a new test.
